A huge kitchen fitting project in Simmondley, Glossop
The owners of this house bought it knowing they had a lot of work on their hands, but their plans and organisation for the project along with the eventual pay-off when it was completed meant this job was one of our favourites.
Firstly we removed a supporting wall, inserting steels in two separate places to create a massive open plan space which completely transformed the feel, making things feel much bigger and allowing light to flood in.
We fitted new patio doors, blocked up an old door and replaced it with a window, and replaced the existing large window at the end of the kitchen.
We put in all new wiring for new lighting including new wall lights and cupboard LEDs, new sockets, and new plumbing in order to allow the washing machine to have a new home at the opposite end of the room as well as two new radiators to be mounted in new areas.
The whole space was re-boarded and plastered, then painted. We levelled the floor, fitted underfloor heating, and then lay new floor tiles throughout.
Then to the kitchen itself! Lots of units, lots of cupboard space, and lots more worktop space including a new island/breakfast bar straddling the space where once there was a wall.
This was a big job and one which we couldn’t be happier about now we look back on the pictures of just how far it has come.
